Blythe Masters, former Digital Asset CEO, joins investment firm Motive Partners

Wall Street veteran and former CEO of blockchain startup Digital Asset, Blythe Masters, has joined investment firm Motive Partners following its $473 million private equity fund.

Masters previously worked for JP Morgan as its head of global commodities for almost three decades. In 2015, she became the CEO of Digital Asset, creator of the open-source DAML smart contract language, but stepped down last December due to personal reasons, according to a company announcement at the time

Her Linkedin profile shows that since then she has assumed advisor roles at blockchain lending startup Figure and fintech mortgage exchange MAXEX.

It has been a year since Masters left her post at Digital Asset. Now, she is joining Motive Partners as an industry partner to develop strategies, advise investors and portfolio companies, as well as provide hands-on execution of the firm’s value creation plans.

Earlier this month, Motive Partners announced that it has raised $473 million for its inaugural fund focusing on buyout opportunities in financial and business services technology companies, according to a press release

In addition to Masters, the firm recently onboarded former Accenture group chief executive Richard Lumb and former global co-head of Houlihan Lokey’s Private Funds Group Robert Brown.
