Russia continues working on cryptocurrency legislation

The Russian parliament is working on cryptocurrency-related regulations, Cointelegraph writes. The State Duma is going to have the second reading of “On Digital Financial Assets” (DFA) in the next two weeks. The bill will not include initial coin offerings regulations as they will be included in Russia’s crowdfunding law.

The country’s deputy finance minister Alexei Moiseev believes the DFA will be adopted in the second reading with the corrections that have been added. Changes in terminology were required—the bill hadn’t used vocabulary like “cryptocurrency.”

The regulations were supposed to come into law by July 1, 2019, per Russian President Vladimir Putin’s request.
